Peace Building training for Community Leaders

JPIIJPC continues with peacebuilding program in Bidibidi Zone 3 and Imvepi Zone 1 and 2 (villages 1-10) Refugee
Settlements to foster peaceful coexistence through peace training, community dialogue, docudrama, inter-religious
community peace prayer, cultural gala, pastoral peace visit, and radio talk shows.

Peace Building training for Community Leaders
A total of 240 community leaders (religious, women youth and Refugees Welfare Councils (RWCs) were trained in
the targeted Zones. They were equipped with skills in conflict resolution and fostering peaceful coexistence among
the refugees and with the host community. The trainings enhanced the skills of the leaders in peacebuilding, and
they are now progressively resolving conflicts at family and community levels as well as making referrals were
necessary. Additionally, it has increased youth participation in conflict resolution in the targeted zones.

Empowerment of Teenage Girls
About 300 teenage girls were empowered in April. The training equipped them with knowledge in managing growth
and peer pressure.
The girls now can navigate some of the peer pressure, growth challenges, SGBV, and cultural biases in the
settlement.
