Pastoral Peace Visit Brings Hope to Imvepi Settlement

The Joint Pastoral Initiative for Interfaith and Justice Promotion (JPIIJPC) organized a significant pastoral peace visit to Imvepi Settlement, led by Rt. Rev. Bishop Sabino Odoki Ocan of Arua Diocese. He was accompanied by Bishop Joseph Aba of the Evangelical Church of South Sudan, Bishop Mandela Nelson of the Pentecostal Church of South Sudan, the District Kadi of Terego, local government officials, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

The visit, which attracted over 1,500 refugees and community members, was a powerful moment of unity and peace. The bishops, religious leaders, and government officials delivered messages of hope, healing, and solidarity, offering comfort and reassurance to the refugees and host community. Their words instilled a deep sense of belonging, strengthening the community’s resolve for peace and mutual support.

This pastoral peace visit exemplified the importance of collaboration between religious, governmental, and civil society groups in fostering hope and promoting unity in times of adversity.
