Mission Statement Inspired by faith, we aim to promote a critical understanding
of social issues and a creative response to build a more just society.
Our Mission is to foster just and compassionate relations
through formation in the Social Teaching of the Church,
research and advocacy. We seek intergral human development,
empowerment of local communities and of national leaders
in the work for justice and peace, with special attention
to the most vulnerable.
Who
We Are • A Consortium for Justice and Peace, founded
by six Religious Families: Missionaries of Africa,
Mill Hill, Comboni sisters and fathers, Holy Cross, and Jesuits.
• We are engaged in critical research and Christian
reflection on issues of Justice and Peace, to actively
address the root causes of social evils threatening
our Country.
• We are committed to make the Catholic Social
Teaching known and integrated in all our different
services. •
We are concerned with empowering people, especially
those affected by poverty, corruption, violence and
violation of human rights, to find a creative just
and peaceful way in overcoming evil with good.
• We are eager to network with all people of
goodwill, JP groups, Congregations, Ministries, Universities
in and outside the Country, to build a Kingdom of
Justice, Compassion and Peace.
• We are aware of Justice, Reconciliation and
Peace being integral part of all Christian Evangelization.
We
offer
• TRAINING & EDUCATION in Catholic Social Teaching (CST) and civic-ethical education.
• RESEARCH & DOCUMENTATION on critical social issues of
today in Uganda.
• ADVOCACY to promote respect of human rights,
good governance and fair distribution of resources.
